POST : TECHNICAL OFFICER

Air India Charters Limited (AICL) invites applications from Indian nationals
who meet with the requirements specified herein, for engagement as TECHNICAL
OFFICER at THIRUVANANTHAPURAM and to maintain a waitlist for the same.   In
case of Company requirement, these employees may also be required to
undertake duties at different stations.
             
No of posts : 10 (SC = 01, ST = 01, OBC = 02, UR = 06)
(Actual reservation will be as per post-based roster at the time of appointment)
1.  ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :
1.1 Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering  / Technology  in
(i) Aeronautical / Aerospace
(ii) Mechanical
(iii) Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunications,
obtaining First Class with minimum 65 % marks (aggregate of
all Semesters)
1.2. Upper Age Limit : as on January 01, 2012
General : 27 years OBC : 30 years      SC/ST : 32 years ;
(A relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years will be granted to persons who
have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir
State during 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989.  Ex-Servicemen will be granted
relaxation in age as per Government rules.)
1.3 Experience :
Post-Degree 03 years of  Engineering Quality  Control  and Technical

2. SELECTION PROCEDURE :
a) Selection Procedure involves :
 Technical Group Discussion and / or
 Personal Interview (s)
 Pre-employment Medical Examination.  
Candidates will have to bear the cost of the Pre-Employment
Medical Examination(s), which could range between Rs.500/-
and Rs.1,000/-.  Any additional tests, if required, the
additional cost thereof will also have to be borne by the
candidate.
3.  GENERAL CONDITIONS :
a) Candidates found suitable and shortlisted, will be inducted as per
requirement of the Company and appointed as Technical Officers on fixedterm contract basis for a period of 05 years. 
b) The selected candidates will have to execute a Bank Guarantee of
Rs.50,000/- for  Unreserved & OBC candidates and Rs.12,500/- for SC/ST
candidates, in addition to an undertaking to complete the training and
serve the Company for a minimum period of 05 years thereafter.
c) Gross emoluments inclusive of all allowances at the minimum of the grade
of Rs.8550-11675 will be approx. Rs.35,000/- per month.
d) Consideration of SC / ST / OBC candidates will be as per Government
Directives on reservation of posts.
e) On successful completion of the 05-year contract period, based on
evaluation of performance, the Company may consider their appointment
on regular basis in AICL. 
f) The Technical Officers could be relocated to any station over the Air India
Express network, depending upon Company requirement.
g) Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidate or bringing political or
other outside influence, with regard to their engagement / selection

4. HOW TO APPLY :
 
a) Interested Candidates meeting with the  Eligibility  Criteria mentioned in
this advertisement, as on January 01, 2012, are required to submit their
Application Form in the prescribed format, which is available on this
website, duly filled-in, in English or Hindi.  The Application, duly filled in,
should be  scanned and emailed to aiclengtorect@airindiaexpress.in, on
or before February  29, 2012.  (NOTE : Applications sent by POST /
COURIER or otherwise will not be accepted / considered).
b) The Application Form of the candidate would be scrutinized and  primafacie Eligible candidates only, will be scheduled for the Technical Group
Discussion and / or Personal Interview (s).
c) Candidates should check the Date(s), Time and Venue of the Technical
Group Discussion / Personal Interview (s) through website.

(NOTE : Candidates not meeting with the Eligibility Criteria will not be
scheduled for the Selection Process and no communication will be
entertained in this regard.)
d) Please note that the Technical Group Discussion / Personal Interview
process may go on up to 1900 hrs.  Candidates may make suitable travel
/ escort / stay arrangements accordingly.
e) Candidates will be required to submit an Application Fee  of Rs.500/-
(Rupees Five Hundred Only) by means of an A/c Payee Demand Draft in
favour of “Air India Charters Ltd.”, payable at  Mumbai, which is not
refundable, details of which should be indicated in the Application Form. 
(NOTE : No fees to be paid by applicants belonging to SC/ST Communities
/ Ex-Servicemen)
f) On the date specified on the website for Technical GD / Personal
Interview (s), the candidate will have to bring the original  Application,
duly filled in, along with one set of supporting testimonials as indicated in
para  (j) below (also listed in the Application Format), as well as the
Original Demand Draft towards the Application Fee. Please mention your
Full Name on the reverse of the Demand Draft. (Note : Original
Certificates will also be required to be brought along for verification
purpose).
g) A recent (not more than 3 months old) coloured passport size
photograph of the full face (front view) should be pasted neatly in the

h) At the time of the Selection Process,  Applications which are unsigned
/ incomplete / mutilated / not in specified format / without supporting
documents, will be rejected and  the candidate will be considered
INELIGIBLE and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. 
i) Applications once submitted, will not be allowed to be withdrawn and
the fees paid, will not be refunded on any account, nor would this fee be
held in reserve for any future examination or selection.
j) Self-Attested clear copies of the supportive documents in respect of Item
Nos. 3, 9, 10, 14 & 15 of the Application Form must be submitted along
with the  Application at the time of  appearing for the  Technical GD  /
Personal Interview.
k) Original Certificates are required to be brought along for verification
purpose only, but should not be submitted / attached along with the
Application. The Company is not responsible for returning any original
copy/ies of Certificates / Testimonials submitted with the Application.
l) A  clear  self-Attested  photocopy of the Caste  Certificate should be
submitted along with the Application in case of SC/ST candidates.
m) Candidates belonging to OBC categories must submit a clear self-attested
photocopy of the  Valid  Certificate recently issued by the Competent
Authority with his seal / stamp, in the format as prescribed by
Government of India,  along with the Application.    The Certificate, inter
alia, must specifically state that the candidate does not belong to socially
advanced sections excluded from the benefits of reservations for OBC in
civil posts and services under the Government of India.  The Certificate
should also contain the “Non-Creamy Layer” Clause.  The Caste and SubCaste indicated in the Certificate produced by the candidates of OBC
Community should be listed in the Central List of OBCs published by the
Government of India and not as per the State Lists.
n) SC/ST candidates called for Personal Interview (s), residing beyond 80
kms. from the nearest Selection Centre to their residence, and not
employed in any Government, Semi-Government / Public Sector
Undertaking or Autonomous Bodies, will be re-imbursed second class to
& fro rail / bus fare by the shortest route as per rules,  on production of

o) Applicants ordinarily domiciled in Kashmir Division of J & K State during
01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 who are eligible for the upper age relaxation,
must produce the Domicile Certificate to this effect at the time of
Interview from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division, within
whose jurisdiction the applicant had ordinarily resided or any other
authority designated in this regard by the Government of Jammu &
Kashmir.
p) Candidates are  requested  to  ensure  that  they  fulfill  all  the  Eligibility 
Criteria regarding Educational Qualifications, Age,  Experience  and such
other particulars prescribed for the post, as on January 01, 2012.  At any
stage of the Selection Process, if it is detected that  the particulars
provided by the candidates in the  Application or testimonials supplied
are found  to be  incorrect / false or not meeting  with the  Eligibility
requirement stipulated for the post, his / her candidature will be
cancelled and if appointed, he / she will be removed from services of the
company, without giving any notice or assigning any reasons therefor.
q) Applicants working in Government / Semi-Government / Public Sector
Undertakings or autonomous bodies, must apply with complete
Application Form routed through proper channel or along with “No
Objection Certificate” from their present employer.
